Salmon Faverolles are such a fun and unique breed, and according to the Livestock Conservancy list they are threatened. This is one of the reasons we have chosen to work with this breed. Like the Black Copper Marans, they originated in France. The Faverolles were developed in the 1860s in north-central France, in the Faverolles village. They are dual purpose, lay around 240 cream/light pink eggs per year, gentle temperament, excellent foragers, and cold hardy. They are full of salmon colored feathers, glorious muffs and beards, and their shanks are not short on feathers!
